Labeling & Coding Overview

EPI, along with ID Technology, Panther, Greydon, and Code Tech, are part of ProMach’s Labeling & Coding business line. We design and build industry-leading solutions for labeling automation and label converting within the protein, beverage, healthcare, manufacturing, and many more industries.

EPI engineers and manufactures pressure-sensitive labeling systems and applicators that apply primary, secondary, and reclosable labels to many types of packaging, including those for the largest consumer brands in North America.

Whether a standalone application or custom solution, these innovative labeling systems integrate easily with your packaging line or existing bagging or wrapping equipment to apply any type of label to pouches, coffee bags, pillow bags, horizontal/flow packaging, and more. Our engineered labeling systems are designed to apply labels to the front, top, and/or bottom of all types of containers and packages, in motion and with conveyors fully integrated.

ID Technology designs, builds, and installs the most effective labeling and coding solutions for numerous industries and an assortment of operations, ensuring improved throughput and greater efficiencies that equate to a better bottom line for customers. Our full range of integrated labeling automation solutions – from simple semi-automatic equipment to high-speed label printer applicators support a variety of product identification needs within primary and secondary packaging operations.

As a single-source provider of labeling solutions, ID Technology also manufactures and supplies flexographic, digital, blank, and shell labels. Supported by our multiple regional converting facilities across the United States and Canada, we offer fast, responsive service and support so our customers can always operate at peak efficiency.

Greydon produces solutions for high-quality printing of content or information directly onto medical devices or pharmaceutical products and packaging. Digital printers, flexographic rotary printers, thermal transfer printers, thermal inkjet printers, and wet ink reciprocating imprinters – in standard or custom options.

Solutions include advanced high-speed digital printing systems for a fully digital workflow to handle multiple SKUs and short production runs inherent in today’s modern packaging lines. With traversing and inline printing capabilities, versatile mounting options, and scalable designs, our solutions can print graphics directly onto packaging substrates and interface with serialization and manufacturing software to ensure complete UDI and DSCSA compliance—compatible with both GS1 and HIBCC standards.

Greydon also provides additional coding solutions including wet ink code daters, reciprocating imprinters, thermal transfer overprinters (TTO), thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers, continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers, and flexographic rotary printers, giving you a wide range of options to address your unique coding challenges.

Code Tech specializes in thermal inkjet (TIJ) and piezo printing solutions. Code Tech printers provide date coding, track and trace, serialization, and anti-counterfeiting solutions for pharmaceutical, medical device, food and beverage, protein, building materials, and consumer product industries.

Code Tech TIJ printers feature a single disposable cartridge with printheads built directly into the cartridge for an all-in-one solution that can run both solvent-based and water-based inks. These utilized inks can be powered by either HP® or Funai Electric inkjet technology, with UV readable, UV curable, and food-grade options available.

From printing dates onto metal cans and batch codes onto plastic sleeves to printing entire ingredient declarations onto polybags, our solutions print both large and small characters cleanly on virtually any substrate with minimal mess, maintenance, and downtime while achieving high speeds and resolution. This versatility allows for simplified integration with other packaging machinery such as conveyors, baggers, wrappers, cartoners, tapers, and more.
